CEA Leaders Attend Rally In Richmond
On February 27th, Cumberland County Education Association leaders and members joined other education leaders from around the Commonwealth, representing the VEA, the PTA, the State Superintendents Association, and the State School Board, attended a Rally for Education at the Capitol in Richmond. This Rally was started as a grass-roots movement by the leaders in the Blue Ridge UniServ. More than 700 people attended the Rally, which has been credited by VEA President, Kitty Boitnott with changing the tide of the debate regarding K-12 funding, and for bringing the Governor back to the negotiation table. Together we saved literally thousands of education positions, and helped to protect our students’ futures.
